Less costs and higher quality through the efficient planning of 16,500 employees


Maarssen, 25 September 2012 – ISS Facility Services Nederland has laid a strategic basis for efficient personnel planning with Rostar CAS, developed by Paralax Planning Solutions: a proven standard solution for workforce management. This state-of-the-art software for personnel planning will enable ISS – one of the largest global facility service providers – to plan the work schedules of its employees faster and more efficiently. Not only will this help ISS to achieve significant savings in personnel costs, it will also provide a huge impetus to the quality of its services.


ISS Facility Services has a workforce of over 550,000 professionals who are responsible for cleaning, security, catering and reception services at thousands of companies and organisations. The Dutch organisation has more than 16,500 employees, the majority of whom work in the Cleaning Services business unit. Competition among facility service providers is great. There is a huge supply and margins are low. ISS distinguishes itself from its competitors through service integration, thereby providing its customers with a single access point for different services. “In a ‘people company’ like ISS, personnel costs are by far the largest expenditure. Professionalism and transparency

In the past, ISS supported its primary processes – planning, purchasing and financing – with a customised application. That application was ready for renewal and ISS decided to look for one standard solution for both workforce management and ERP. The ERP solution selected was Microsoft Navision. For workforce management the choice fell on Paralax Rostar CAS, with which ISS Security Services has already had a positive experience. “The simultaneous implementation of Navison and Rostar CAS in an organisation of 16,500 people is a huge project. The advantages for ISS are considerable.
